Interfolio is a faculty information system numerous institutions of higher education use to streamline faculty information access, reduce the workload for unit report generation, and support promotion and tenure processes. In 2018, Interfolio was initially selected by the university to support faculty hiring processes. A number of units began using the system for their annual evaluation processes and the university has since adopted Interfolio as the system to uniformly manage all promotion and tenure processes.
In 2022-2023, all faculty evaluation processes were formally transitioned into Interfolio with a goal of developing templates to reduce documentation and streamlining the overall process.
The benefits of this system include:
- Singular system for compiling faculty achievements
- One front-facing system fed by University databases
- Departments, colleges/schools and university can meet requirements for reports and information without repeatedly tasking faculty to send information
- Formatted reports for creating NIH biosketches, NSF information, or a curricula vita
- Reports can be used for large grant applications, balancing faculty workloads, celebrating faculty successes, supporting faculty awards, and academic program reviews

After a faculty member's initial profile creation, F180 minimizes the amount of time faculty spend on the evaluation process.
Initially, faculty have more information to input and errors in other systems – like Compass – are being corrected as faculty see missing or incorrect information. Going forward, the annual update process will be minimized, and faculty can use their F180 vitas in evaluations, funding applications to NIH and NSF and during the promotion and tenure process.

As much information as possible is being pulled into Interfolio F180 from university sources to reduce the burden of manual data entry. However, this information is only as accurate as the information in the other university systems.
If there are errors, faculty can correct the original sources or make edits within the Interfolio F180 platform (these are located in the "Information" link on each activity area).
Interfolio/F180 Virtual Office Hours
Faculty Affairs offers Interfolio/F180 Office Hours every other Wednesday from 10:00-10:30am. These sessions will cover both F180 as well as promotion and tenure reviews, are very informal and are intended to assist faculty, administrators, and support staff with any questions or issues they might need help with either with F180 or RPT.
Registration is required to attend these sessions.
